Hisaab ("we", "us", "our") is a Sharia-compliant portfolio tracking tool operated by an individual. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use Hisaab, why we collect it, and how it is handled. By creating an account and using Hisaab, you agree to this policy.
1. What We Collect

We do not collect: your brokerage login credentials (Hisaab has no brokerage connection — all portfolio data is entered manually), payment information (there is currently no paid tier), or data from third-party data brokers.
2. Third-Party Processors
We use the following third-party services to operate Hisaab. Each is contractually obligated to handle your data securely and only for the purposes listed.

Data Localisation Note: Your data may be processed and stored by these providers on servers outside India. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with applicable laws.
3. Cookies
Hisaab uses session cookies set by Clerk to keep you signed in. These are strictly necessary and cannot be disabled without logging you out.
Vercel Analytics is cookieless and does not track you across websites or build a personal profile.
We do not use advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics cookies.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active.
You may permanently delete your account at any time from within the app. Deleting your account removes your profile, portfolio data, Zakat settings, and feedback from our systems. Some data may be retained in encrypted backups for a short period before permanent deletion.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of any inaccurate data
- Delete your data by deleting your account from within the app
- Lodge a complaint with the appropriate data protection authority

6. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising under this policy shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you by email where reasonably practicable.
