Terms of Service

Effective date: 26 June 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Hisaab, a Sharia-compliant portfolio tracking tool ("the Service"), operated by an individual ("we", "us", "our"). Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Hisaab in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not access or use the Service.

2. What Hisaab Is

Hisaab is a personal finance tracking tool that helps Muslim investors monitor their stock portfolio for Sharia compliance, calculate Zakat obligations, and track purification requirements on dividend income and capital gains.

Hisaab is not:

  • A SEBI-registered investment adviser or broker
  • A financial intermediary or portfolio management service
  • A fatwa-issuing authority or source of Islamic legal opinion

Nothing on Hisaab constitutes investment advice, a recommendation to buy or sell any security, or a binding religious ruling.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use Hisaab. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement and are using it for personal, non-commercial purposes only.

4. User Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for:

  • The accuracy of all portfolio data you enter manually into Hisaab
  • Keeping your account credentials secure and not sharing them with others
  • Any financial or religious decisions you make based on information displayed in Hisaab
  • Complying with all applicable laws, including tax obligations, in your jurisdiction

Hisaab is not liable for financial outcomes, tax consequences, or religious compliance decisions arising from incorrect data you have entered.

5. Sharia Screening Disclaimer

Hisaab's screening methodology is based on AAOIFI (Accounting and Auditing Organisation for Islamic Financial Institutions) standards, which evaluate stocks against sector and financial ratio criteria. Full details of the methodology are documented within the app.

This screening is provided as a reference tool only and does not constitute a fatwa, a binding Islamic legal opinion, or a certificate of Sharia compliance. For personal religious guidance on your specific financial situation, consult a qualified Islamic scholar.

6. No Investment Advice

Hisaab is a compliance and obligation tracking tool. It does not provide financial or investment advice, does not recommend any securities or financial products, and is not registered as an investment adviser with SEBI or any other regulatory body. All investment decisions are made solely by you.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and functionality of Hisaab are the property of the operator and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of Hisaab without prior written permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Hisaab and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including but not limited to financial losses, investment outcomes, or tax liabilities resulting from reliance on information displayed in the app. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Hisaab at any time if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a manner that is harmful, unlawful, or contrary to its intended purpose. You may also delete your account at any time from within the app.

10. Pricing

Hisaab is currently free to use. If a paid tier is introduced in the future, updated terms will be published with reasonable advance notice before any charges apply. You will not be charged without your explicit consent.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of Hisaab after updated Terms are published constitutes your acceptance of the changes. For material changes, we will notify you by email where reasonably practicable.
